3M™ Throttle Plate & Intake Cleaner

Product Overview:

3M™ Throttle Plate & Intake Cleaner helps remove dirt, residue, and deposits from throttle body assemblies, carburetors, automatic chokes, linkages, and PCV valves. It leaves no residue on exterior surfaces. This product is sensor-safe and safe to use on oxygen sensors.

How to Use:

1. Shake well before use.
2. Turn the engine off.
3. Remove the air intake boot at the manifold.
4. Place a shop cloth under the throttle valve and air intake opening.
5. Hold the can upright and press the actuator all the way down to apply an even spray.
6. If using the extension tube, insert it into the actuator using a twisting motion.
7. Apply cleaner to both sides of the throttle plate and surrounding area by spraying or wiping with a cloth dampened with Throttle Plate & Intake Cleaner.
8. Allow the cleaner to work for 10-20 seconds.
9. Repeat spraying or wiping to remove softened deposits.
10. Repeat cleaning as necessary.
11. Clear the intake manifold of cleaner fumes by blowing air into the intake manifold or allowing the car to sit for a few minutes with the throttle plate wide open. This will reduce the possibility of a backfire when the car is started.
12. For best results, ensure the material is at room temperature. Higher temperatures increase the pressure in the can, while lower temperatures reduce it.
13. Reattach the air intake boot and run the car.
