3M™ Perfect-It™ II Rubbing Compound

It is a high-performing, fast-cutting vehicle rubbing compound, recommended for use to remove sand scratches from all types of refinish or factory-applied automotive paints. May also be used to remove car wash scratches, oxidation, or other defects from paints that do not require sanding.

To minimize the possibility of staining, do not apply in direct sunlight or onto a hot surface.

How to Use

• Wet sand paint defects with grade Micro Fine P1200, P1500, P2000 IMPERIAL™ WETORDRY™ Colour Sanding Paper, or dry sand with Finishing Film Grade P1200DA, P1500DA discs.
• Compound with an air or electric buffer (1500 to 2500 RPM) equipped with SUPERBUFF™ or HOOKIT™ SBSTM compounding pad.
• Shake container well before using.
• Apply enough compound to the paint surface to work a two feet by two feet area. To minimize slinging, spread the compound over the surface with the compounding pad before starting the machine.
• Start the machine and buff using light to medium pressure.
• Reduce pressure when compound begins to dry. Spur pad as necessary to assist clean-up.

Note: If compound slings onto an adjacent panel, remove compound spatter with a soft damp cloth as soon as possible or before compounding to the next panel.
